LAUNCH DAY “ENERGY AND GEOSTRATEGY 2023”

The Spanish Committee of the World Energy Council (CECME), the Spanish Energy Club (ENERCLUB), the Spanish Institute of Strategic Studies (IEEE), and the Centro Superior de Estudios de la Defensa Nacional (CESEDEN), have presented the 10th edition of the publication “Energy and Geostrategy”, with the sponsorship of Repsol, as main sponsor, and Cepsa.

During the meeting, the following spoke, in this order: Antonio Brufau, President of Repsol; Iñigo Díaz de Espada, Chair of CECME; Jordi García Tabernero, Vice-President of ENERCLUB; and Admiral Juan Francisco Martínez, Secretary General for Defence Policy, Ministry of Defence.

 The authors of the study and its coordinator, the former Minister of Industry and Energy, Claudio Aranzadi, analysed the issues addressed in this 2023 edition:

  • Interview with the Third Vice-President and Minister for Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Mª Teresa Ribera.
  • The effect of energy shocks on national economies. Trevor Tombe.
  • Renewable fuels and their role in the current scenario. Berta Cabello Calvo.
  • Nuclear energy in the energy transition. Cayetano López.
  • The Caucasus in the European energy decoupling strategy. Colonel Felipe Sánchez Tapia.
  • Can Latin America become an energy alternative to Russia? The Cases of Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina and Brazil”. Tcol ET Pablo Ahedo.

2024

LAUNCH DAY “ENERGY AND GEOSTRATEGY 2022”

The Spanish Committee of the World Energy Council (CECME), the Spanish Energy Club (ENERCLUB) and the Spanish Institute for Strategic Studies (IEEE), and the Centro Superior de Estudios de la Defensa Nacional (CESEDEN), presented the ninth edition of the publication “Energy and Geostrategy” on May 26th..
The event was attended by Antonio Brufau, Chairman of Repsol; Iñigo Díaz de Espada, Chair of CECME; María Victoria Zingoni, President of ENERCLUB, and Juan Francisco Martínez, Admiral and Secretary General for Defence Policy, Ministry of Defence.
In addition, the main issues of world geopolitics were debated with the participation of Víctor Baz, Deputy Director of International Relations at Repsol, and Francisco José Dacoba, Brigadier General and Director of the IEEE
